Created in 2005, the Bàn Liên cooperative is located in the heart of Bac Hà district in the heights of North Vietnam.
In the heart of dense and diversified vegetation, the cooperative employs 10 people at the manufacturing plant and buys fresh leaves from 178 families, mostly from the Tay minority.
Certified in organic agriculture in 2007, it was in 2015 that it obtained fair trade certification.
The 400 hectares of tea bushes are mostly located between
1000 and 1500 meters above sea level, but Dragon’s Tail comes from Camellia Taliensis tea bushes that grow at an altitude of over 2000 meters in the province of Hà Giang, east of Lào Cai, and on the border with Yunnan.
It is cultivated by the H’mong and Dao minorities.
